ThunderHawk Browser Allows Full Web Experience

Bitstream's ThunderHawk wireless Web browser allows you to view full HTML Web pages on mobile devices over the wireless Internet. With ThunderHawk, you now have a mobile browser that displays the complete text and images of any Web page. You get mobile Web access to real Web pages that maintain full text legibility.

ThunderHawk currently allows a Pocket PC, with a 320x240 color LCD screen, to display a legible SVGA (800x600) or VGA (640x480) screen of a Web page, instead of forcing the user to scroll around a stamp-sized window. Palm OS based devices and Smart Phones will have to wait as ThunderHawk is still in development for those platforms, but they are said to be on the way.

With these two pictures you can see the difference with ThunderHawk.

ThunderHawk is available with an annual subscription of $49.95. We would of course prefer a one time fee for the software as there doesn't seem to be any advantage with a yearly subscription structure.

The Enterprise Edition of ThunderHawk allows corporate IT departments to deploy ThunderHawk on their networks, enabling mobile workforces to browse both Internet and intranet Web pages - giving employees access to crucial corporate wireless data, whether on the road or in the office. With access to a wireless intranet, your mobile staff can complete a variety of tasks, such as making database inquiries, updating inventories, ordering products and publications, communicating with clients in the field, and scheduling services and repairs.
