Many Palm OS Treo users who switch over to the Windows Mobile versions of the Treo (700w, 700wx) miss the Palm threaded SMS application. There were some users who hacked the Treo 750 and posted a cab file that allowed threaded SMS messages on the Treo 700w, but the web sites hosting the files were asked to remove them by Palm, Inc.
TxtMan is an application written to provide threaded sms messaging on the Treo and other Pocket PC and Smartphone platforms. Written by Ben Hirashima, TxtMan has been tested with the following phones:
Motorola Q
Treo 700w
Cingular 8125
Verizon XV6700
Samsung i320
T-Mobile Dash
Samsung Blackjack
Cingular 8525
In our tests we found that because the application was written using the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 2.0, TxtMan is extremely slow. It takes us almost 20 seconds just to launch the program using a Treo 700wx. TxtMan must also be running in memory order to receive SMS messages.
With those things in mind, if you can't wait for Palm to release a threaded SMS package, or another hacker to release something TxtMan might work for you.
